My guide to buying more, and saving more.

When you know you are on a budget, and only have a certain amount of money to spend, lets say $20 dollars, eat before you go out. This way you don’t spend money on food. Added bonus, most home-cooked foods are a lot less calories then greasy mall food. Then… well that’s basically it.

So buy more, save more, smile more, and weigh less.


So, we all know it’s bikini season and come on, who doesn’t want an easy diet to get you beach ready fast?

My favorite carbonated water is selzter. I can go through like 20 cans in a week!

Nobody, that’s who. So before I tell you this ‘easy diet to get you beach ready fast’ you may want to know that it sounds too easy. Too simple. Too silly.  But for people like me, who love to drink coca-cola or any other soda, then yes, this diet may work for you.

So next time you have a craving for your favorite soda (who doesn’t love a good old Coke on a hot summer day?) grab a carbonated water instead (or some of you may know of it as ‘fizzy water’). If this does seem too boring, well I find it boring too, but have found a way to make it yummier and healthier. Add fruit! Nothing makes my sparkling water better then half a cut of grapefruit. This way you have all the nutrion of the fruit, with all of the satisfaction of soda. Yum!

So grab a fizzy water and drink away the pounds to a new, hotter you.

vegetables are really yummy! I know I must sound crazy, but some are actually tasty.

One of my favorites is carrots. They are sweet and crunchy and ever since 5th grade I’ve loved them! Besides being delicious they also protect you from cancer, have lots of vitamin A (did you ever hear that carrots are good or your eyes? They are! If you don’t have a enough vitamin A it can cause you to have bad eyesight), and they have lots of antioxidants and minerals. Are you starting to love vegetables yet?

Another one of my favorite vegetables is spinach. Yes I know,everyone thinks spinach and Brussels sprouts are horrible, but really I think spinach is great! I like it cooked in cream and butter and garlic. Yum! Here are some good things about spinach. Spinach has lots of iron and contains high amounts of “lutein” and “zeaxanthin.” It is believed that these two nutrients may be important for protecting your eyes against some of the bad effects that can be caused by oxygen. Spinach is also is a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, magnesium, and several vital antioxidants. The list of benefits goes on and on.  Loving vegetables yet?

And my last ‘favorite’ vegetable is cherry tomatoes. I used to pick them fresh when I was a kid and I still love them today. Here’s some reasons why you should love them to. Tomatoes have lots of vitamins and minerals and are especially known for having tons of vitamin C and A. How can you not love vegetables yet?

So do you know believe that vegetable are not only incredible healthy but delicious? Thought so.

I’ve met the devil (and his name is blueberry muffin)! Now normally I’m pretty good at resisting temptations, cookies, cake, brownies, but when it comes to theses suckers, I just can’t resist.

Blueberry muffins seem healthy, look healthy, but aren’t healthy. Some of theses babies are 500 calories or more! But they have blueberries, so they must be kind of healthy, right? Well, they might be healthier then an oreo (mmm, oreos!) but that doesn’t mean that they will have less calories then an oreo.

So how do you resist these favorite go-to foods. I’m about to tell you how. Rule 1, when you walk down a grocery store hallway don’t head down the desert isle, even if there are some wonderful smells wafting down the hall, calling you over to take a bite of warm blueberry goodness…see look, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. So in a nutshell, don’t go anywere near the desert isle.

Rule number 2, try to find healthier subsitutes like, plain muffins, smaller muffins, or if you’re really feeling healthy just plain blueberries. So in a nutshell, find healthier subsitutes for the chosen food.

Rule 3, try to eat in moderation, so instead of having 2 muffins, have 1. This will save you extra calories while still letting you get your fill of desserty goodness. So in a nutshell, eat in moderation. Follow these rules and you’ll eat less, feel guilty less, and most importantly, weight less.

Did you know that most people burn about 2,000 calories a day, doing what? Nothing! Just by breathing, walking, living, you are burning up to 2,000 fricken calories a day! So do you want to make 2,000 into 2,300 just by doing a couple small things a day? Well, duh, the answer’s yes (just in case you didn’t catch on) and you better listen up because I’m about to tell you how!

Firstly, try to fidget. I know when you were a kid your mother always told you (or at least mine did) ‘Sit up straight, and stop fidgeting, it is not very lady-like at all,ect.’ well it turns out that fidgeting can burn up 200 calories a day! So a day’s worth of fidgeting is equal to a small chocolate bar!

Secondly, try not to sit down. It’s this simple: the more you stand, the more you walk, the more you walk, the more calories you burn, the more calories you burn the skinnier you are. Easy as pie.

Thirdly, try to walk as much as you drive, so if you you drive 10 minutes, you walk 10 minutes. If you drive an hour, you walk an hour.

And lastly, try to smile. Muscles are muscles so even smiling can be considerd a work out! So fidget, stand, walk, and smile as much has you can and you might get a pleasant surprise, a couple pounds off the to-do list.

Easter is one of the most fattening holidays there is, it’s 24 hours of pure fat-building fun, a war zone with chocolate eggs, peeps, and easter cake as the enemy, and you know you’re going down. My top tip for this fatiday (fat+holiday) is don’t resist all of the Easter candy craze, just some of it. If you say, ‘no, I will not eat one piece of candy’ you’ll end up eating 10 times more then if you had just let yourself eat some in the first place. That’s how I survived. Also if you go overboard and eat say, 700 calories of peeps (trust me we’ve all been there) don’t fast for a day, just remember the next time around how guilty you felt before you eat 1…or 2…0r 5, but no matter how many you eat, weigh the happiness you feel while you eat it, against the guilt you’ll feel after you eat it.

Easter is over now but the tips you just read work for every holiday (remember this on Christmas, yeah, I’m on to you!) so be healthy, be happy, and stock up on peeps while you can!

I’m sure I’m not the only person here who can’t wait for hot summer days, swimming in the pool, and relaxing by the ocean, but the whole ‘bikini-show-down-thing’ I could definitely wait for. I’m positive you all have seen the size 0, teeny, weeny girls with their teeny, weeny bikinis to match, giving you those quiet looks of distain as you lounge in the corner wearing your size 12 black one piece. So how do you turn from size not to size hot? Just follow these 4 easy tricks to make you teeny, weeny bikini worthy just in time for summer.

  • Find out how many calories you need a day and eat 200 less.
  • Look through all your cookbooks and find low calorie meals, make them.
  • Start going to exercise classes, it doesn’t matter what it is, yoga, dance, cardio, anything works.
  • If you don’t want to change your lifestyle there is one thing you can do, learn do love yourself. Be big, beautiful, confident, and totally in-your-face awesome.
Just follow those 4 tricks and soon you’ll be kicking those size 0 girls butts in no time!
