Now that fall is gone, along with thanksgiving (by the way, you can tell me how yours was in the comment section below!), it’s time to think winter. But uh oh, if your anything like me, you haven’t even been thinking winter at all lately! And the last thing you want is to be wearing last seasons nail polish! But don’t worry you don’t have to freak out, because I’ve already found the perfect nail Milani Nail Lacquer Disco Lights 89 polish color, that will be fabulous all season!

Next time your at the your local drugstore, CVS, or Walmart, pick up a nice sparkly color. “Sparkly?”, you may ask. I thought this winter was all about the dark and drab? But in a sea of dark blues and purple, a nice sparkly color is just what you need to stand out! Try going for one that has actually sparkles in it, because other wise it’s just another shimmery nail polish, and those are so last summer!

So sparkle this winter, with sparkly nail polish

I love french nails. They just look so professional. But alas, I am not a professional, and find it pretty hard to create my own DIY

french nails. I am in fact, what I like to call nail-polishly-challanged. But I have found a french nail kit that even I find it hard to screw up with.

It’s called the sally hanson 5 minute french nail pen kit, and it’s pretty simple to use. You just paint your nails with base coat, wait until they dry, then use the pen to create the white line, and bam, your done. The pen works pretty well and is really fun to use. Just make sure you don’t have to much polish on the pen, or you lines will get drippy (learned that the hard way, tehe). It’s so much easier then trying to use a nail polish brush to paint the lines, I can’t even count all the hours I’ve used trying to make a french manicure that way.

. Works well.

. Pen is just fun to play with. 🙂

. Pen can create other designs as well.

. Easy to use.

. The pen is slightly drippy.

. Hard to achieve strait lines.

Before I begin my post I would like to say this idea was given to me via one of my comments, so comment! Tell me what you would like to know! Ask questions, make suggestions, anything goes (as long as it’s not mean of course)!

Sick and tired of plain, nail-polish-less  toes? Don’t want to pick the wrong color (even though removing it is easy)? Who isn’t? But which color’s the best? Hmmm…

Guess what? There are 2 ‘best colors’!

  1. The first ‘best color’ is something you might not expect, baby blue. But not shimmery, mermaid-y blue, matte almost-frosty blue. It’s a great base for designs, and looks great on short as well as long nails. Plus it works year-round, so you don’t have to switch out nail polishes if you’re feeling lazy.

     2. The second ‘best’ nail color is also light. It’s light, slightly beige, matte  pink. Matte colors are very in this fall, and this pink is no different. It also works great for fingers. (So does the blue.)

So get ready for fabulous toes, because now you know which colors are the best.

Summer’s all about bright nail polish, how else would you explain my numerous nail polish post? But the

problem with bright nail colors is that they can leave not so bright stains. Yes, I’m talking about that horrible yellow-ish stains that you can get on your nails that are totally un-pretty. But you can get rid of them, and for cheap? But how? The answer lies in another summer favorite, lemons.

Yes, you did hear me right. The lemon in your lemonade or cup of water can also get rid of stains on your nails. But how? It only takes 2 easy steps.

  1. Cut a ripe, fresh lemon in half.
  2. Stick in your nail polish stained nails and wait ten minutes.
  3. Repeat until stains are gone.

Now you may wonder why this works. Lemon is a natural lightener and is often used to lighten hair. Apply that logic to your nails and tada, un-stained nails.

So forget the lemonade and use your lemons for a better purpose, lightening your nails.

‘Its summer! The time to relax, swim, paint your nails… wait a sec, paint your nails, I don’t now what color?!’ Sound like you? Well, don’t worry, because I’m about to tell you a great new nail color! And that nail color is (dim the lights!)… silver!

Silver nails are great because they shine under water (which is perfect for the ocean!), are wonderfully edgy, and make a perfect base for a cool white-and-silver french manicure.

So pop by your local CVS and grab a bottle, because silver is a great new summer nail color and everbody knows it.

Have you ever just wanted a nice, pretty nail color? White is exactly that. Unlike red or black, white doesn’t suggest anything it’s just a plain clean slate. But it’s still far from boring. When you don’t paint your nails you can look unkempt but white keeps you fab, without looking drab.

Take a tip from Scarlett Johansson and get white nails.

So take a hint and get with the times, because white nail polish is all the rage.

Here’s a half baked! Have you been stuck on nail colors lately? Need a sexy new color to replace red? Try a deep brown. I know what your thinking, “Brown nail polish? Ew!” but it isn’t ‘brown’ it’s more a deep chocolate. So sexy an sensual, and I love it!

See the deepness of the color? Thats what your polish should look like.

See the deepness of the color? That's what your polish should look like.

But do you see how this brown polish oesnt have the same gloss or deepness? Thats what makes this one a no-no.

An you know what’s funny? I found this hot new color when looking up brown nail polish because I thought it looked bad! I found while searching for ugly long nails for my earlier post, ‘Long Nails, Hot or Not.’  So I guess it’s a great thing from a bad cause.
