Summer means long, smooth legs, not dry, flaky legs. But sometimes it’s hard to get rid of dry skin. I’ll put moisturizer on before I go to bed, and in the morning my legs will be as dry as the desert.

Moisterized, touchable legs are all that this summer.

Moisturized, touchable legs are all that this summer.

So I turned into a moisturizing cream junkie, but even after spending over 70 bucks on the most all-natural, ultimately moisturizing cream I could find, my legs were still dry after a couple of hours. But I have recently discovered how to keep my legs soft and smooth and summer worthy.

Expensive moisturizing creams aren’t the answer, it’s the technique that counts. After bathing, before anything else, apply moisturizer straight to your legs or anywhere else you want moisturized. Hot water opens up your pores so when you apply moisturizer, it doesn’t only sit on the surface of your skin, it goes in deep moisturizing skin from the inside out. This not only moisturizes your skin, it breaks the cycle of dry skin so it doesn’t come back.

So take a shower and feel the power – the power of soft, moisturized skin.

I just realized that it was summer! Summer, the word the that has had your mouth watering and your limbs

Ah, summer.

Ah, summer.

twitching since you were only 5 years old and now it’s here! But, summer can be stressful, because, common, you doesn’t start to start to sweat when you realize that your expected to wear a (shudder) bikini? So if your looking for great summer tips that acually work, kaunis.wordpress.com is the place to be.

You may have noticed (if you read my blog daily) that I didn’t post over the weekend. But, I didn’t post for a very good reason. It was my (woohoo!) birthday on the 28. My 4 closest friends and I had a girls only weekend at the beach in Watch Hill Rhode Island. But, to make this post more beauty related I decided to tell you about my experience with waves.

Jump in! Get wet!

Jump in! Get wet!

When I say waves I don’t mean the water kind, I mean the hair kind. When your swimming around in the ocean, you’re mostly thinking about if your bikini will fall off, not about your hair. But I was thinking about both. And in my head I was wondering, how am I going to get fabulous beach waves? I know that I have already written a post called, how to get perfect beach waves, but that post only tells you how to make them before you’re in the water, not after. So in this post, I’m going to tell you how to save your waves.

First, make your hair into a tight bun before you go into the water. This will keep your hair from getting soaked. That may sound crazy, but if you only go for a light swim, the middle of your bun won’t get wet. (This step is optional, but helpful) once you get out of the water, brush out your hair, but don’t use any conditioner. This will keep your hair light and bouncy, as beach waves should always be. Then simply tuck your hair behind your ears and let it do it’s own thing until dry. By tucking it behind your ears you will give it a little bit of shape, without looking too put together. The sun and wind and you moving will naturally tousle the rest of your into a wavy (but awesome) mess.

So jump in the ocean and have fun, because afterwards you know how to always make the perfect beach waves.

Shade 1

There are many different shades of orange nail polish, but I think this shade is one of the best. It practicley glows!

The beach. Sun, heat, salty water, it’s all out to get you hair.  The sun makes it dry, the heat makes it frizzy, and the salt water makes it even drier. By the end of the day your lucky if you don’t look like a Furbie. So if your like me, you put your hair in ugly braids, smother them in conditioner, try to forget how ugly you look, and tell yourself it’s for the best. But now your can look hot, and healthy, with these beach-proof hairstyles.

Slicked back ponytail

I recently wrote a post called, 1 tip to healthy hair. It’s basically a tight ponytail slicked back with a heavy conditioner. The conditioner moisturizes and the tight ponytail keeps your hair looking modern.

Christina Aguilera looks fab in this high pony and so will you - except youll look fab on the beach.

The braided headband bun

Braids have always been on my beach-proof hairstyle list, but never as glam as this one. It’s just a simple french braid, except this one just happens to look like a headband. To make one just start a french at the top of one ear and keep braiding until you get to the top of the opposite ear.

Coat your braids in conditioner, and your ready to go.

The messy bun

Buns are great because they are chic, and a perfect hairstyle to drench in conditioner. Plus when you take your hair out of the bun, you have perfect beach after-beach waves.

Emma roberts shows how a messy bun can easly go from beah, to chic.

So, grab you conditioner and your hairbands and get ready to go to the beach, because it’s summer, and you’ve got beach-proof hair.

High gloss, high shine lips are all that this summer. But gloss doesn’t look to hot on chapped, wrinkled lips. So,

Be like Miley and het smooth, glossy lips this summer.

how do you keep your lips smooth and soft? You exfoliate.

I know exfoliating your lips doesn’t sound like too much fun, but it actually is painless and easy. Cover your lips in lip balm and rub in. Now, take your toothbrush and rub the bristles (gently) on you lips. It might feel a little uncomfortable but as long as you don’t rub for too long, you’ll be fine. Wash the lip balm off and then apply a thinner, more conservative layer. Tada, you have smooth, gloss ready lips.
