Now that fall is gone, along with thanksgiving (by the way, you can tell me how yours was in the comment section below!), it’s time to think winter. But uh oh, if your anything like me, you haven’t even been thinking winter at all lately! And the last thing you want is to be wearing last seasons nail polish! But don’t worry you don’t have to freak out, because I’ve already found the perfect nail Milani Nail Lacquer Disco Lights 89 polish color, that will be fabulous all season!

Next time your at the your local drugstore, CVS, or Walmart, pick up a nice sparkly color. “Sparkly?”, you may ask. I thought this winter was all about the dark and drab? But in a sea of dark blues and purple, a nice sparkly color is just what you need to stand out! Try going for one that has actually sparkles in it, because other wise it’s just another shimmery nail polish, and those are so last summer!

So sparkle this winter, with sparkly nail polish

Summer nail polish colors are all about being bright and perky, with neon oranges and hot pinks. But in the winter time you can match some of your new darker nail colors with you darker wardrobe, and here’s a dark nail polish that I’m especially fond of.

Another thing I love about dark nail polish is that it looks good on short and long nails.

So dive head first into the winter monthes with 1 of this season’s hottest nail colors, dark purple.

This fall it seems most fashion is neutral, full of grays, browns, and whites, but one thing this season’s a loud to be bright, and that’s nails. And the hottest hot color for nails this season? Yellow.

Neon yellow nail polish is all the rage this fall, but keep it matte. Too shiny or shimmery and it starts to loose its chicness.

I love french nails. They just look so professional. But alas, I am not a professional, and find it pretty hard to create my own DIY

french nails. I am in fact, what I like to call nail-polishly-challanged. But I have found a french nail kit that even I find it hard to screw up with.

It’s called the sally hanson 5 minute french nail pen kit, and it’s pretty simple to use. You just paint your nails with base coat, wait until they dry, then use the pen to create the white line, and bam, your done. The pen works pretty well and is really fun to use. Just make sure you don’t have to much polish on the pen, or you lines will get drippy (learned that the hard way, tehe). It’s so much easier then trying to use a nail polish brush to paint the lines, I can’t even count all the hours I’ve used trying to make a french manicure that way.

Pros-

. Works well.

. Pen is just fun to play with. 🙂

. Pen can create other designs as well.

. Easy to use.

Cons-

. The pen is slightly drippy.

. Hard to achieve strait lines.

Before I begin my post I would like to say this idea was given to me via one of my comments, so comment! Tell me what you would like to know! Ask questions, make suggestions, anything goes (as long as it’s not mean of course)!

Sick and tired of plain, nail-polish-less  toes? Don’t want to pick the wrong color (even though removing it is easy)? Who isn’t? But which color’s the best? Hmmm…

Guess what? There are 2 ‘best colors’!

  1. The first ‘best color’ is something you might not expect, baby blue. But not shimmery, mermaid-y blue, matte almost-frosty blue. It’s a great base for designs, and looks great on short as well as long nails. Plus it works year-round, so you don’t have to switch out nail polishes if you’re feeling lazy.

     2. The second ‘best’ nail color is also light. It’s light, slightly beige, matte  pink. Matte colors are very in this fall, and this pink is no different. It also works great for fingers. (So does the blue.)

So get ready for fabulous toes, because now you know which colors are the best.

Water, refreshing, fun to swim in, and good at removing nail polish.

I hate using nail polish remover! It smells so bad and every time I use it I seem to knock it over. So I end up removing more then nail polish (seriously, all of my tables have little finish-less patches, ew!) You can imagine how badly I wanted to find anoother way t0 remive nail polish. And then… it happened. I have always known that the thicker the coat of you nail polish the easier it is to peel it off. But my other discover was the real breakthrough. I was in my bathroom painting my nails (the only place in the house that’s nail polish remover proof) and I realized that I had messed up one of my nails. The nail polish remover was nowhere to be found so I took my troubles to the sink. I turned on the hot water  hoping it would soften up the nail polish making it easier to remove. It did! So now instead of nail polish remover I use warm water. And if warm water doesn’t work I apply one more coat of nail polish, make sure it’s very thick and gloppy, and then I stick it under some more warm water. Success!

I know I have  a lot of post about hot new summer nail colors but this is one is really a must. It’s called (cue scary music)…pink.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking, you’re thinking about how it’s just boring old pink and you want something with a little more edge, like silver. But pink can be edgy and fabulous, if you wear it right, and here is one new way to wear it.

  1. If you want edgy, wear it bright. Like neon bright. Apply 2 coats to make sure it the color is strong enough.
To make pink edgy, were it glow-in-the-dark bright.

If Rhianna, the queen of edgy and fierce wears pink, you know that it must be fabulous.

Try insta dry nail polish in hot pink. Not only is it an awesome color, it drys in 60 seconds. This might need deverve a whole other post.

Added bonus, hot pink looks great on short nails, so even if your nails are itty bitty (um me!) you can still wear pink.

So get fierce, get edgy, get fabulous, get pink.
