How to give the perfect mani. pedi.

Posted on: April 20, 2009

Before I start my post I would like to say that this idea was given to me by a comment. If you would like to have your idea posted send me a comment with your idea and I will post it a.s.a.p. Thank you!

Manicures are expensive especially when you get a pedicure too, but sandal season’s coming and long, scraggly, unpainted nails are not the prettiest sight so here are some tips to give the perfect mani., pedi.

  1. Paint ’em messy! It can be frustrating trying to paint them ‘just right’ so paint them messy and take a bath the next day, while in the tub peel off the nail polish that’s on your skin.
  2. If you want to add shapes (flowers, suns, stars, etc.) don’t try to paint them. At most beauty stores (like Claire’s) you can find little stick on shapes. To apply just press the shape to your nail and coat with clear polish.
  3. To make dots or stripes use ‘Sally Hanson Nail Pens’. To make them work, press the tip of the pen against a hard surface until the tip is fully coated and then draw your design.

Follow these tips and you’ll avoid the ugly nail and sandal combo to make sure you’re ready for summer.

Paint yours right and you just might end up with tooenails as gorgeous as these.

And always soak your toes pre-pedi. Makes a HUGE difference. Use skin-softening cleansers or if you’re out of supplies, try milk. The lactic acid helps soften and exfoliate your feet.

Thanks! Gonna have to try the milk thing, it sounds cool. 🙂
